BARTON CREEK

a TO z ENTERTAINMENT

Archway to Zing . . . This home located in the Barton Creek area is rife with beautiful stonework topped with reclaimed brick. An arched front entry way led us to an existing pool in the backyard that sat atop the hill and was barely visible. We were presented with two options: renovate the existing pool in a manner that would bring more function to the design or completely remove it and start fresh. Our client chose the latter and although this renovation project was a large endeavor it is an exciting project to take on. A perimeter edge spa sits separate from the main body of the pool creating an awesome focal point for the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom that surround it. The new pool has a raised beam with two copper fire bowls and three water scuppers for added visual interest. This beam gives us a nice upper deck that is used as a tanning area and a few more steps lead you to a third level, where an existing fireplace sits and makes for a perfect spot for entertaining an intimate group around a warm fire. Addressing these grade changes gave us the opportunity to design built-in seating where our clients placed a large dining table. Off the rear of the kitchen, we designed a small but very functional outdoor kitchen complete with a bar-top, trash bin, fridge, grill, and smoker. As a final addition to the project, we suggested adding an arched entrance way on the side of the home that will complement the rest of the architecture on the home. From large gatherings to quiet evenings for two this outdoor living space is warm and welcoming from all perspectives.
